Our Revolution Hong Kong Issue 54 puts Bvlgari in the spotlight, with a look into the incredible six-year history of the Octo Finissimo. The year 2020 kicked off in the most unexpected of ways — earlier this year, we attend the LVMH Watch Fair in Dubai, and come back to you with a comprehensive report. Little did we know then that it would be the only fair to run as scheduled. In the span of time it took to put together the April issue, the world fell into the throes of Covid-19 and the watch industry suffered its worst hit crisis since Quartz. But if anything, we at Revolution are not hitting the brakes. We celebrate Grand Seiko's 60th anniversary from afar, and bring you an exclusive look at Audemars Piguet's Musée Atelier, with anecdotes from none other than Museum Director Sébastian Vivas himself. We also look at what some brands are quietly developing: Hublot's R&D innovations have even attracted the attention of the European Space Agency.
Our collectors' conversations include bona fide style icon Mark Cho, and Austen Chu, better known to the watch community as @horoloupe on Instagram.
And last but not least, during this lull in socialising events, we shift our focus onto a very serious matter at hand: the very real dangers of vintage watch collecting. Wei Koh chronicles his own vintage journey to caution us on the follies of buying into new old stock.
